A friend brought to me an old Korg musical synthesizer recorder machine that had malfunctioned long ago and became the victim of musician's frustration, and so he asked me to try fixing it.. once I had the Apexel 100x zoom microscope lens attachement for my CAT s61 cellular phone, I was ready to try inspecting the circuit board. Out of the box, the Apexel is easy to get started with. It required only that its led lamps be charged with the classic style micro-usb. I gave it about an hour to charge up, and when I came back to check, it was ready to go.

I'm using this with a 10-year-old phone and quite enjoying it. The clip did end up pressing the power button on the phone, making it restart continuously. I thought of cutting a recess into the clip to solve this, but I ended up just using a knife to carve a bit of material off the power button and make it shorter. This worked out very well. But if you have a phone with plastic or metal buttons, you may need to break out a file or rotary tool and mill a small recess for the power button to sit in. Or disable the power button in software, whatever's easier for you.

This is a really cool magnifier that attaches to your phone very securely, and requires no software to download. This attaches right on top of the camera lenses, and attaches to almost any size cell phone. It is super easy to attach it to the phone, and just as easy to detach it when you are finished.

This is a fun and useful add-on to make super closeup shots. It comes nicely packaged, with a foam cutout, so it looks good to present as a gift, and it’ll make a good place for storage too. ((It also comes with a little velvet bag.) The device is made with metal rails and the plastic parts seem sturdy. The side rails clamp onto your phone with a strong internal spring, so there’s no chance this device will fall off the phone. (There are some included sticky pads for a more permanent attachment.)
